Welcome to 'The Lion' series homepage!
News/Updates as of 4/4/08:

Episode 4: Well, it's official: there's no way the spring release will happen. My apologies for the delays, which unfortunately were inevitable. The draft still is not finished, and even if it was, I don't have the funds right now to publish it. Frankly, I don't see it being available before late summer...

The good news is, it appears that my job situation will be resolved soon. Once I'm on my feet in that way, the stress will be off me and my creativity will seep back in to refill the well. So, my new target timeframe for the release of the fourth in 'The Lion' series is September. Keep checking here for updates, and again, thank you for bearing with me. Let's hope for a good '08 all around...

The '08 festival season: It seems we have a very bad trend arising when it comes to vendor fees charged at the events. Yes, that means they're going up- WAY up, in some cases, to the point where I will have to limit my appearances this year. I doubt I'll make any at all before September. At this point I know of 4, maybe 5 events in the area that I want to take part in, so again, check this site for updates.

I'll be sending out mass e-mails to those on my list with announcements to that effect as well. For those who are not on my mailing list but want to be, drop me a note at john@johnhoffert.com and I'll be glad to add you, and fear not: it's an extreme rarity for you to receive more than one announcement from me per month.

Important note on purchasing/prices:

Here on my site I offer festival rates on my books for those who purchase directly from me via secure Paypal transaction or check, which will save you a few bucks. I offer package deals as well; look below book descriptions on 'Next in the Series' page for those deals.

Since I'm with a print-on-demand publisher, the prices of my books will be higher on average than those you'd see in the regular bookstores because the unit cost is higher. However, they shouldn't be as expensive as you see them on at least two prominent sites.

Prices were supposed to have been reduced nearly a year ago, but on a few sites that has not happened. If you see my books on any site listing for $21.95 and $22.95, or more, they are overpriced and I suggest you do not buy them from the site in question, since you will be paying those prices unnecessarily. Fortunately, as I mentioned above, I can sell them directly for considerably lower prices, as you will see on each book page below the descriptions...

Reader reviews wanted!! It would be a big help in spreading the word for those of you who've read any or all of the series so far to post your feedback on sites such as Amazon. You can post reviews there even if you didn't purchase my book from that site. Same goes for sites you surf where there are blogs/discussions about books. I'd appreciate your help!

One final note: personnel in certain bookstores might tell you my books are out of print, which is a load of crap. My books are not and never will be out of print. You always can find them here, and the purchasers at the bookstores could order them, but they don't, given the prejudice against those of us who do not ride the boring mainstream current.

Enjoy the site, and have a good one!
